Clay Handbuilding

If you haven't tried clay yet, you need to! It is seriously so much fun!

We have clay classes and walk in clay as well as wheel classes and private lessons.

Clay classes go through all the basics of starting with little to no knowledge of clay. We go through all the basics, how to create items you'll love and how to make sure they stay in one piece!

Clay Walk-Ins
If you'd like to work with clay independently and have enough experience to create without instructor assistance, our Clay Walk-In option is perfect for you.

For $35 + tax per person, you'll receive:

-2 lbs of clay
-Access to our clay tools and workspace
-The opportunity to create up to 2 pieces

The price also includes two kiln firing. Once your pieces are ready, you can return to glaze them and have them fired again at no additional cost.

Please note that Clay Walk-Ins do not include instruction. If you'd like guidance or would like to learn new techniques, we recommend booking a clay class instead.

How long will it take to get my piece back? Why does it take so long?

Clay takes time to dry completely before it can be fired. If any moisture remains inside the clay, it can turn to steam in the kiln and cause the piece to crack or even explode.

Depending on the size and thickness of your creation, the drying process can take several weeks. Once your piece is completely dry, we will fire it in the kiln and contact you when it is ready for glazing.

Glazing is the fun part! You'll choose colors and paint your piece before its final firing. The glaze gives your pottery its finished look and makes it shiny, food-safe, and ready to use.
